Finally, Kheops International, a local company renowned for its meaningful gifts, unveils an inspiring collection of unique creations designed to awaken consciousness and enrich the heart.

La Cabane à Grandmont
La Cabane à Grandmont is a 30-hectare sugar bush with a spacious sugar shack built in 2022.
Steve Grandmont, entrepreneur and member of the ecovillage, had long envisioned this beautiful project, which now complements his other activities and creates new opportunities on the ecovillage site.
“In spring 2024, we tapped 1,400 maple trees, which allowed us to produce 12 barrels of syrup. Thanks to the size of our sugar bush, we plan to increase to 5,000 taps by spring 2025. In 2024, we kept two barrels for transforming into various products such as maple taffy, butter, cones, lollipops, and more. These treats are available at the Boutique de la Cité, the Petit Marché in Ham-Nord, and a few local grocery stores.”
— Steve Grandmont
Although the sugar shack’s activities are run by several members of the ecovillage, it’s heartwarming to highlight the strong family spirit that prevails. Three generations of the Grandmont family are involved—from Grandma Suzanne to Élohim, Steve’s son.
Élohim is proud to help his father and is preparing to take over by pursuing his training in maple syrup production as part of his vocational diploma (DEP). He’s learning everything there is to know about managing a sugar bush—from identifying trees to producing and marketing the many maple-based products.
The delicious maple creations are lovingly prepared by Suzie and sold at the Boutique de la Cité.

La Ferme Bio-Maraîchère
Since the very beginning of the ecovillage in 1984, we’ve been deeply committed to caring for our land and cultivating it using the best ecological practices to ensure the healthiest possible food.
Ferme Bio-Maraîchère grows more than fifty different varieties of vegetables, herbs, mushrooms, and small fruits. We explore everything that can thrive in our climate—whether outdoors in our fields or inside our greenhouses. Thanks to our heated greenhouses, we’re able to grow high-quality vegetables year-round.
Our top priority remains feeding the members of the ecovillage, but our production is also sufficient to supply a few local markets. Our vegetables are available at the Boutique de la Cité, the Petit Marché in Ham-Nord, as well as in several regional grocery stores and restaurants. All our produce is certified organic by Québec Vrai.
Come meet our team at our markets on Sundays and Wednesdays at the Boutique de la Cité, and Thursdays at the Parc du 150e in the village of Ham-Nord. Check our Facebook pages for schedule details.
You can also join our team for a training internship in organic farming. To learn more, visit our “Internships” section.
